Notre Dame names new head varsity soccer coach Eric Lanzafame has been named the new varsity head soccer coach at Notre Dame High School. Lanzafame is excited to begin his coaching tenure after a long-time affiliation with the school. His wife is an alum and played soccer for the Rebels as did his two daughters. “I have a deep passion and connection to Notre Dame High School,’’ said Lanzafame. “I feel my ability to successfully communicate with and motivate my players helps them grow and succeed and reach their full potential.’’ Lanzafame has over 20 years of experience coaching women’s soccer at the collegiate, club and youth levels. After finishing his playing career at Fontbonne University, Lanzafame served as a graduate assistant at Fontbonne for three years and eventually moved to club coaching leading teams for White Star, Ajax, Kolping Kicks and Sporting St. Louis. “In addition to developing players on the field, it is just as important to teach strong life skills which will contribute to the players becoming well-rounded, confident young women,’’ said Lanzafame, who’s in the process of rounding out his coaching staff. “My goal is to always provide an atmosphere where players can develop and thrive personally which will assist in their future success.”
