It was a great day for the Golf and Tennis teams on Thursday as six Notre Dame athletes earned spots in their respective state tournaments.
In Tennis, the Rebels turned in an impressive performance at the Class 1 District 2 Individual District Tournament at Windsor, capturing championships in both the singles and doubles divisions. Senior Abby Selsor won the singles bracket, while the doubles team of Katie Lumsden and Lilly McKay secured their second consecutive district title. Lumsden and McKay will now make their return trip to the Class 1 Individual State Tennis Tournament, set for October 23–24 in Springfield, where Selsor will also compete in the singles division.
The Golf team also had an outstanding day, with three players qualifying for the Class 2 State Tournament. Lilly Eilers shot an 86 to finish sixth in the District 1 Tournament at Wolf Hollow, followed by Madelyn Kohlman, who carded a 97 to place 15th. Aubree Pastrana was close behind with a 98, finishing 17th overall. The trio will advance to the Class 2 State Golf Tournament, which will take place October 20–21 at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield.
Congratulations to all of our state qualifiers and to their coaches, Liz Lahm and Bob Bianchi. We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and outstanding accomplishments!
