The 2020 election is one to celebrate as it marks 100 years for women’s right to vote. Our eligible Centennial Women registered in class with the help of S. Kathleen Brice and will be voting for the first time today. We encourage everyone in our ND community to exercise your right too and GO VOTE!

Student Council challenged all of our students to bring in cans and other non-perishable items during the month of October in hopes of restocking St. Matthias’s Food Pantry. Our always generous students rose to the occasion and now the pantry is full! Congrats to the seniors who had the highest class participation in the can drive — they will be enjoying a free lunch from Ms. Mallette!

Plan to visit ND's Blood Drive, sponsored by our National Honor Society, on Monday, November 9th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You can schedule a donation time by visiting www.bloodcenter.org — use sponsor code 9726!

As a school community, we expressed gratitude for the founding of the School Sisters of Notre Dame congregation and celebrated our Foundress, Mother Theresa Gerhardinger, by uniting for a prayer service outside of the motherhouse with the SSND. Students also enjoyed the Foundation Day cake tradition at lunch — this year in cupcake form!

Tickets for our LIVE STREAM performance of Nunsense (A Musical Comedy) on November 13, 14, & 15 are on sale now. Visit www.ndhsperformingarts.com to buy your tickets and learn more about the show.

Our sophomores had retreat on October 16! They celebrated mass, talked about hurt and forgiveness, and participated in bonding activities together.

We have been celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with daily Spanish prayers and cultural facts during October. Today, several of our students continued to share their heritage with their classmates. The celebration of Hispanic Heritage included learning traditional dances like Macarena and Banda in the gym plus a pinata in Sacred Heart Square. The building has been decorated to celebrate too — flags, posters, Quinceanera photos and a Dia de los Muertos ofrenda in the chapel are all on display. Thank you to all the students that helped us organize such a fun cultural celebration!

The Archdiocese High School Application Intent Form opened today! You have until November 16th to mark ND as your first choice and submit the form online. Our faculty and staff participated in Diversity & Inclusion Training at the end of September. Topics included the difference between diversity and inclusion, creating more inclusive environments, unconscious bias, and biases within education. This is one step we have taken to increase our own awareness and engage in a dialogue that deepens our understanding and ignites compassion so that we can chart a path forward and transform our world through education.

Our future is bright! We welcomed 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls to experience the spirit of ND firsthand at our premiere event, Night @ Notre Dame! ✨ The visitors practiced safe social distancing while testing their literature knowledge, flying drones, creating crafts with code, dancing and worshiping together. Shoutout to all of our faculty and students that helped make it a great night!
