“LIGHT UP NOTRE DAME!”
Our goal is to replace all lighting on campus including in every classroom, the cafeteria and the gym with energy-efficient lighting by January 2011.
Did you know?????
- The lighting throughout the school is more than 50 years old.
- Parts for the current lights, including bulbs and ballasts have been discontinued.
- There are 1,143 lights that need to be replaced throughout the ND campus
- One light can range in cost from $50 for a classroom fixture to $400 for a gym fixture.
- Ameren UE will grant Notre Dame $12,000 toward the project as an energy-efficient credit.
- The new lights throughout the school will save Notre Dame more than $65,000 over the next three years

Annual Giving brings our entire Notre Dame family together to give back to the school in order to keep tuition costs as low as possible. Parents, teachers, alumnae, alumnae parents and ND friends make the difference with their gifts toward unmet daily expenses at Notre Dame. Notre Dame relies on voluntary tax-deductible gifts to help bridge the gap between tuition revenues and the actual cost of education per student.
Actual Cost of an ND education: $10,600
Current ND tuition for 2009-2010: $9,500
Gap that exists per student: $1,100
