Students receive grades based on a college scale. The following percentages are used to translate numerical grading to letter grades:
A= 93-100%
B= 84-92%
C= 75-83%
D= 70-74%
F= 69% or below, not passing, no credit earned
Student Grade Point Averages (GPA) are calculated at the end of the semester and at the end of each academic year. The GPA is based upon the following value points divided by the number of courses taken per semester. Honors and weighted courses receive an extra value point per grade.
A= 4.0
B= 3.0
C= 2.0
D= 1.0
F= 0.0
Notre Dame honors academic excellence with two honor rolls based on the student's semester GPA:
Gold Honor Roll= GPA of 3.6-4.0+
Blue Honor Roll= GPA of 3.0-3.59
