Notre Dame Upgrades Soccer Field
Our new $35,00 soccer field opened up to play in March. A new sprinkler system was added as well as expanding the current field to a 70 by 120 playing field. A new outdoor shed was also added to help with soccer equipment and to be used for concessions during games. A new scoreboard will be put in by August of this year.

Small school Notre Dame plays a brutal schedule that includes some of the area’s top kickers. So it figured the Rebels might have an easier time Wednesday night when they traveled to DuBourg to take on the less-imposing Cavaliers. Not so, Rebels coach Jeff Robben said. “This was also a prelude to a district game, so we knew they were going to be up for it,” Robben said. “It was a possible tone-setting game.” But the only team setting a tone were the Rebels. Relentless Nickels wears down Notre Dame opponents

At first glance last season, Jeff Robben didn’t notice anything special. “She was just such an unassuming player,” said the Notre Dame coach of Emily Nickels. “There was nothing remarkable about her. She didn't look like a tough, athletic kid." But when he began assembling the Rebels soccer team this spring, Robben was singing a different tune. “Emily wore this big, bulky knee brace and wasn't the fastest out there," he said. “But she had a knack for being in the right position.
