Jeff Robben - Head Varsity Coach
Jeff Robben is one of the most decorated goalkeepers in UMSL history. During a three-year stretch from 1968-88, he recorded a school record 21 career shutouts, including a single-season record of 11 shutouts in 1986. In 1988, he led the team to a school record 18 wins on the year, including a trip to the NCAA Championships. Robben has the second best career saves with 278. He twice recorded over 100 saves in a year with 105 in 1988 and 100 saves in 1987, the 5th and 6th best totals in school history. Robben was a first team All-American selection in 1988 and was a three-time, first team all-region selection and three-time all-conference selection during his career.
Following his career at UMSL, Robben played professionally in the National Professional Soccer League for five seasons and the USISL for two seasons. He has also served as a high school coach at St. Mary’s High School where he was an assistant for six years before becoming head coach in 2001. He was named Archdiocesan Athletic Association Coach of the Year in 2001 after leading St. Mary’s to the state championship. He has been with Notre Dame High School since 2001.
